As Vice President, Business Development, Mr. Gilbert is responsible for corporate-wide business development activities, including corporate strategy, campaign planning, bids and proposals, marketing, and communications. He leads FGM’s business development efforts and is responsible for developing new business to support and promote FGM’s continued growth within the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal government and international agencies.
Mr. Gilbert is a skilled strategist and visionary with executive-level experience at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), Office of the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Air Force, and several Air Force major headquarters-level commands. He has provided technical and subject matter expertise to select members of the IC and the DoD, and he directed an Information Operations Technology Enhancement Study for the Under Secretary of Defense (Intelligence).
Mr. Gilbert was previously deputy operations manager for FGM’s Integrated Intelligence Systems division and director of National Space, Intelligence and Information Operations where he managed a diverse set of corporate activities focused on satisfying the national security requirements for a variety of customers. Mr. Gilbert played a major role in expanding FGM’s customer base throughout the intelligence community, and was the capture manager for significant wins with the National Counter-Terrorism Center (NCTC), the NRO, and the USD(I), among others.
Before joining FGM, Mr. Gilbert had a long, distinguished career as a United States Air Force officer holding key leadership positions on many national priority programs involving satellite communications, Information Operations, space control and electronic warfare. His last assignment on active duty was as the deputy director of the Mission Integration Office (MIO), within the Communications Systems Acquisition and Operations Directorate, at the NRO, where he managed special communications systems for the Department of Defense and the Central Intelligence Agency.
A Louisiana native, Mr. Gilbert earned his B.S. in business administration and management information systems from Louisiana Tech University, and an M.S. in systems management at the University of Southern California.
Mr. Gilbert is an active member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Air Force Association (AFA), Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), Association of Old Crows (AOC), and the Louisiana State Society (LSS).
